Financial Support by NEDFi in Northeast India
Between January and November 2023, the North Eastern Development Finance Corporation (NEDFi) sanctioned Rs 766.47 crore and disbursed Rs 547.11 crore across 5,338 projects in eight Northeastern states. Key sectors include education, healthcare, and microfinance, with Assam receiving significant funding. NEDFi promotes local entrepreneurship, particularly in the Micro and Small Enterprises sector, offering favorable credit terms and launching schemes like NMFS and NMLS, benefiting over nine lakh individuals, especially women. Additionally, the North East Venture Fund has committed Rs 98.18 crore to 67 projects, enhancing the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
