Aligned Climate Capital has successfully closed its second venture fund, raising $85 million, contributing to a total of $145 million raised since its inception in 2019. The fund focuses on investing in seed to Series B companies that are scaling clean energy solutions. Key investors include the Ford Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation, along with various pensions and family offices. CEO Peter Davidson emphasized that the clean energy transition is less about technology and more about deployment, highlighting the need for capital and expertise to scale existing solutions that outcompete fossil fuels and effectively reduce carbon emissions.
