Private equity firm Amicus Capital announced a Rs 125 crore investment in Equirus Group, a financial services firm backed by the late Rakesh Jhunjunwala, acquiring an undisclosed stake. This investment, which includes both primary and secondary sales, allows Federal Bank to partially exit. The funds will be used for capital expansion, technology upgrades, talent acquisition, and operational improvements. Equirus, which provides investment banking and asset management services, aims to enhance its market position amid India’s growth trajectory. Amicus co-founder Mahesh Parasuraman expressed confidence in Equirus’s potential, while Equirus’s managing director highlighted the benefits of fresh capital and insights.
