Private Aubrey Clarence Pritchard – WW2

Aubrey Clarence Pritchard, born in 1920 in West Maitland, enlisted in the Militia at age 20 and later joined the 2nd AIF. He served in various locations, including Palestine and New Guinea, participating in key battles against Japanese forces. Wounded in June 1945, he received medical treatment and was discharged in November. Returning to Speers Point, he married Vera May McFadyen in 1946, and they had several children. Pritchard passed away on January 30, 1987, and was buried in Dungog General Cemetery, honored as a returned soldier from WWII.
