A recent conference focused on the need for advanced technologies in the security sector, bringing together representatives from Israel’s Ministry of Defense, venture capitalists, and entrepreneurs. The Ministry collaborates with around 270 startups to enhance innovation against security threats posed by adversaries like Hamas and Hezbollah. Col. Nir Weingold emphasized the importance of rapid collaboration with startups. Discussions highlighted challenges in the defense sector, including legal complexities and slow sales processes. Investors stressed the importance of dual-use technologies and experience in the U.S. security market, while some preferred a concentrated focus on security for startups in their initial years.
