The COP29 Presidency hosted the Business, Investment & Philanthropy Climate Platform in Baku to mobilize private sector resources for climate action. Over 900 leaders from business, finance, and philanthropy gathered to discuss climate finance and the integration of private initiatives into achieving the Paris Agreement goals. H.E. Badr Jafar emphasized the need for public-private partnerships to unlock significant capital, noting that while over $450 trillion in net private wealth exists, effective mechanisms are needed to channel these funds toward climate solutions, especially in developing countries. The forum aims to advance collaboration and drive sustained action in future COP meetings.
