In October 2024, over 26% of Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) outperformed the Nifty50 benchmark index, which fell 6%. Data from PMSBazaar.com indicated that 30 AIFs delivered positive returns, with four Category II funds achieving around 10% growth, including Vivriti’s Emerging Corporate Bond Fund (up 14%). Category III AIFs also showed notable performance, with Generational Capital’s Breakout Fund rising over 9%. AIFs, regulated by SEBI, require a minimum investment of Rs 1 crore and can invest in a mix of assets, including equity and debt, without leverage.
