Funding for European tech startups in 2024 is projected to be slightly below last year’s level, with an anticipated total of $45 billion, significantly up from $15 billion in 2015 but under half of the record $101 billion in 2021. Despite Europe having over 350 companies valued over $1 billion, only 15 countries have recorded IPOs exceeding $1 billion in the past decade, predominantly in Britain. The number of IPOs has drastically decreased, with only 11 recorded in 2024, the lowest in a decade. However, signs of funding growth in the latter half of the year hint at a potential rebound in 2025.
