The Sacramento County Employees’ Retirement System (SCERS), based in Sacramento, manages $13.3 billion in assets, with 8.1% allocated to private infrastructure. In its November board meeting, SCERS announced its plans for a $220 million private infrastructure investment portfolio for 2025, targeting commitments of approximately $55 million to four funds. The pension fund intends to focus on specialist, sector-specific funds and will continue to invest in small to mid-sized infrastructure projects, particularly in transportation and environmentally-focused strategies. Currently, SCERS’ private infrastructure portfolio totals $1.1 billion, exceeding its target allocation of 7%.
