Athera Venture Partners, a technology-focused early-stage investor, has secured capital commitment from HDFC Asset Management Company for its fourth fund, targeting a close of Rs 900 crore. HDFC AMC, now a significant backer, along with SIDBI Fund of Funds, provides over 60% of the fund’s capital from domestic investors. Athera, formed after a split from Inventus Capital in 2022, plans to invest in consumer internet, AI, and deeptech startups. The fund has already backed six companies, including Clickpost and Cynlr, and aims to support 16-18 firms with investments between Rs 5 to Rs 25 crore.
