The Africa Initiative for Fire Safety (AIF) recently held a strategic dialogue in Sokoto State to improve fire safety awareness and preparedness. The forum, involving government agencies, emergency teams, and community leaders, aimed to address rising fire incidents. Dr. Garba Ibrahim moderated the session, which followed AIF’s nine-month research on fire disasters. AIF’s Executive Secretary, Prof. Yahaya Tanko Baba, emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders. The meeting outlined six key pillars for fire disaster management, with participants pledging to enhance awareness campaigns and modernize firefighting infrastructure, ultimately striving for a safer, more resilient Sokoto State.
