Punjab has emerged as a leader in agricultural infrastructure, with 19,408 projects and ₹4,478 crore sanctioned under the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund. The government is promoting crop diversification, expanding horticulture from 439,210 to 481,616 hectares, and has noted a significant price increase for cocoons, benefiting farmers, particularly women. The state also made headlines by exporting litchi to the UK, enhancing farmer incomes. New horticultural estates have been established, and various support initiatives under the National Horticulture Mission are underway. Minister Bhagat emphasized plans to enhance silk production and promote regional artisans through events like the Silk Mark Expo 2024.
