Proterra Asia has made three investments from its Food Fund 3, which closed at over $200 million in October 2022. The investments are in South Korean meat trading platform Meatbox, Chinese dairy company Silk, and Australian snack business Health Lab, marking Proterra’s first Australian deal. Additionally, Northstar Group invested $1.5 million in Indonesia’s Orange Dental to expand its network and improve accessible dental care. Founded in 2014, Orange Dental operates 20 clinics in Greater Jakarta and aims to address the high prevalence of dental issues in Indonesia, where many suffer from cavities and toothaches.
