Brett Brewer, a founding general partner of Crosscut Ventures, is leaving the Los Angeles firm but will continue managing its portfolio companies. Co-founders Brian Garrett and Rick Smith remain, with Garrett as managing director and Smith as senior advisor. Brewer’s exit follows the recent hiring of Jon Ylvisaker as a partner. Crosscut is currently raising its sixth fund, targeting $85 million. Founded in 2008, the firm has raised over $300 million across five funds, focusing on early-stage frontier technologies in areas like clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and defense. Brewer expressed pride in his work at Crosscut.
