P1 Ventures, a pan-African venture capital firm, has launched its inaugural fund, raising $50 million, with commitments from notable investors including the International Finance Corporation, billionaire Mohamed Mansour, and former Uber executive Emil Michael. The firm plans to invest half of its capital in start-ups across Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, and Kenya, while the other half will target French-speaking African countries and emerging markets. Currently managing over $60 million in assets, P1 Ventures focuses on early-stage investments in sectors like fintech, health, and e-commerce, aiming to support growth in underserved regions.
