SC Capital Partners Sells Student Housing in Sydney
Singapore’s SC Capital Partners has sold a student housing complex in Kensington, Sydney, for a significant profit, achieving a 19% markup on its book value. The 233-bed facility, fully leased to the University of New South Wales, was acquired in 2016 for A$57 million. The sale reflects SC Capital’s strong performance in the student accommodation sector, which has seen demand surge, with a 19.3% increase in enrollments from January to May 2024. SC Capital is also in the process of being acquired by CapitaLand Investment, enhancing its asset management capabilities.
