NATO is enhancing military defense systems to counter potential attacks, focusing on improving detection methods for hypersonic weapons. A recent workshop on Quantum Computing in Fluid Dynamics highlighted the significance of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in defense applications. The European Investment Council recognized lattice-based CFD and quantum algorithms as promising for future exploration. Quanscient’s CEO explained that their quantum native methods for CFD, particularly using the Lattice-Boltzmann and Lattice Gas Automata algorithms, can effectively address data input and output challenges. These advancements aim to achieve quantum advantage, with practical applications anticipated within the next few years.
