The Indian Government has launched the ‘Namo Drone Didi’ scheme, allocating Rs. 1261 Crores to provide drones to 14,500 Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) under DAY-NRLM from 2024-2026. This initiative aims to support agricultural services, such as applying liquid fertilizers and pesticides. It includes an 80% central subsidy for drone costs, training for drone pilots, and a comprehensive package of equipment and support. The scheme will be overseen by various government departments, ensuring effective planning and monitoring through a digital management system. This initiative aims to enhance agricultural efficiency and provide sustainable livelihoods for participating women SHGs.
