Jan Lozek, managing director of Future Energy Ventures (FEV), emphasizes that investors can capitalize on startups addressing challenges in the solar and electric vehicle (EV) markets, which are currently struggling. Germany’s solar energy boom has caused grid instability, while European consumer concerns about international conflicts overshadow climate issues. Although overall EV sales are not meeting expectations, Lozek sees opportunities in early-stage startups, particularly in digital solutions. Despite difficulties in fundraising and a stagnant exit market, FEV is nearing its €250 million target for its second fund, indicating a strong position to invest in a challenging but opportunity-rich environment.
