The CVC team, led by Lina Arbelaez, was responsible for investments in startups focused on green technologies since 2021. Despite having 13 portfolio companies, including Applied Carbon and Marathon Fusion, the team will no longer manage these investments, although Anglo will retain its stakes. This move is part of a broader strategy following a decline in share price and a failed takeover attempt by BHP. Future decarbonisation efforts will be realigned under the Iron Ore Commodity Marketing Team.
