The European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC) has selected seven proposals to establish AI Factories across Europe, marking a significant step towards enhancing AI capabilities. The initiative, backed by a €1.5 billion investment from national and EU funds, will host factories in Spain, Italy, Finland, Luxembourg, Sweden, Germany, and Greece. These facilities aim to boost EuroHPC’s computing capacity, facilitating advanced AI model development for various sectors. The AI Factories will foster collaboration among start-ups, industry, and academia. Additional proposals can be submitted by Member States until February 1, 2025.
