A report by the Indian Venture Capital Association highlights that the Assets Under Management (AUM) of India-based private capital funds reached Rs. 10.50 lakh crore by December 2023, tripling over 15 years. Venture capital funds have seen significant growth, with AUM increasing from Rs. 46,400 crore in 2010 to Rs. 3.80 lakh crore in 2023, although deal numbers declined. Private equity also showed resilience, with AUM rising 210% since 2010. Private debt AUM has grown 26-fold, while real estate AUM increased to Rs. 1.80 lakh crore. The infrastructure sector is flourishing, driven by government investment and private participation.
