In 2024, Private Equity – Venture Capital (PE-VC) firms invested $31.1 billion in Indian companies across 1,021 deals, a 5% decrease from 2023’s $32.9 billion. The year saw 74 mega deals totaling $20.7 billion, with Brookfield’s $2.5 billion acquisition of American Tower Corporation’s Indian business being the largest. Five new unicorns emerged, attracting $356 million in investments, a 22% rise from the previous year. The IT sector led with $10.8 billion, while the BFSI sector saw a 20% increase to $4.4 billion. Healthcare investments fell by 34.2% to $3.7 billion.
