A group of investors, including Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund and Swiss bank UBS, plans to establish a new basketball league spanning Asia and Europe, aiming to rival the NBA. This $5 billion competition will feature six men’s and six women’s teams competing in eight cities, with Singapore and Macau as potential hosts. The initiative seeks to attract top global players and tap into the growing basketball market. Strategic partners include Saudi events company Sela and Macau’s Galaxy Entertainment. Singapore’s Ministry of Culture expressed interest in partnering, highlighting the country’s infrastructure and business status.
