Midlands businesses raised £69.8 million in venture capital (VC) from October to December 2024, a 78% increase from the previous quarter, according to KPMG’s Venture Pulse report. This included 22 transactions, with Birmingham leading in deal volume. A significant portion, £48.2 million, was invested in Quanta Dialysis, a medical device company. The report highlights the region’s robust private business ecosystem, with a strong ongoing interest from investors. The IT sector, particularly software companies, was notable, attracting £16.5 million. Nationally, the UK secured £15.5 billion in VC, maintaining its position as Europe’s top investment destination.
