CPP Investments, the world’s second-largest private equity investor, is selling a private equity portfolio valued at $1-$1.1 billion, focusing on tail-end holdings. Evercore is advising the transaction. This follows CPP’s earlier 2023 sales, including a $2 billion LP portfolio to Ardian and an $860 million energy portfolio to Goldman Sachs. CPP has also been active on the buy-side, recently backing PSG and Accel-KKR. As of December 31, 2024, CPP manages C$699.6 billion, with C$155.9 billion allocated to private equity, generating a 9.6% return in 2024. Other LPs like Nan Shan Life are also looking to sell portfolios.
