Investments by the Indian diaspora in GIFT City funds have surpassed USD 7 billion, according to K Rajaraman, chairman of the International Financial Services Centres Authority. In 2024, NRIs remitted over USD 129 billion, indicating substantial investments in global markets. GIFT City, established to attract diaspora funds, provides foreign exchange investment opportunities. Currently, 5,000 NRIs have invested nearly USD 1.5 billion in various banking products. The assets under management for banks in GIFT City exceed USD 78 billion, with significant corporate borrowing.
