The San Bernardino County Employees’ Retirement Association (SBCERA) is increasing its private equity allocation to $650 million this year, up from $575 million last year. This plan includes $250 million for existing partnerships and the potential to establish new relationships with private equity firms. SBCERA aims for an 18% allocation to private markets, currently at 17%. While private equity distributions have decreased due to market constraints, SBCERA has still netted $237 million in distributions through November. The organization recognizes a slowdown but sees potential recovery in the market.
