The 2025 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), held from January 12-18, focuses on sustainable progress and the role of the Global South, which comprises 85% of the global population and is projected to represent 80% of the middle class by 2030. The event featured key speakers like Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu. H.E. Badr Jafar emphasized the need for a fourfold increase in climate finance, highlighting the Global South’s economic potential and the importance of collaboration among business, philanthropy, and government to tackle climate challenges effectively and accelerate sustainable development globally.
