Luge Capital and Pender Ventures are expanding their operations in Alberta by hiring new investors in Calgary. Luge Capital, based in Montréal, has appointed Chelsea Gillett, while Vancouver’s Pender Ventures has added Jacob Grainger. This move follows a $10 million investment from the Alberta Enterprise Corporation (AEC) to enhance capital for early-stage companies in the region. Luge focuses on FinTech investments and has previously supported Alberta companies like HonestDoor and OneVest, while Pender targets B2B software and healthtech startups. The AEC is also launching the Accelerate Fund IV to support early-stage tech ventures in Alberta.
