Aviral Bhatnagar’s A Junior VC (AJVC) has successfully closed its first fund of Rs 100 crore, focusing on pre-seed investments in India’s burgeoning startup ecosystem. Bhatnagar, a former investor at Venture Highway, aims to back 12-15 companies annually in sectors like AI and consumer tech. The fund saw oversubscription, primarily from domestic family offices and high-net-worth individuals, with only 10% of capital from foreign sources. AJVC has made nine investments so far and plans to exit between Series B and C stages. Bhatnagar emphasizes a long-term approach, highlighting the evolving risk appetite of Indian investors.
