Standard Capital Markets Limited has announced its entry into the alternate investment fund (AIF) sector, committing an initial investment of ₹50 crore. The company’s subsidiary, Standard Capital Advisors Ltd, will manage the AIF, dubbed ‘Standard Global Opportunities Fund’. Additionally, the NBFC plans to acquire a 100% stake in Hong Kong’s US Financial & Investment Ltd and establish a wholly-owned subsidiary in Dubai for lending services. A preferential issue of equity shares is also planned. Despite these developments, Standard Capital’s shares have declined significantly over the past year, settling at ₹0.68 recently.
