Interesting features from the second biggest venture round in the US this year
On October 2, OpenAI announced a $6.6 billion funding raise, achieving a $157 billion post-money valuation. Over 250 million users utilize ChatGPT weekly to enhance various aspects of work and creativity. This funding, primarily led by Thrive Capital and including significant contributions from Microsoft, Khosla Ventures, and Nvidia, aims to boost AI research, compute capacity, and application development. Notably, OpenAI restricted potential investors from backing direct rivals.
